Hydraulics on MF 65

Can someone tell me if the hydraulics on a 1959 MF 65 are one way or two way? I don't know very much about hydraulics so forgive me if i didn't ask the question correctly.

Hi Darrin,
Assume you are asking if the action is single or double acting? That is to say you have hydraulic power pulling them down. The answer is no. Just about every tractor relies on good old gravity to pull them down.

If you are asking about remote hydraulic hookups for say an external hydraulic cylinder, it depends on the valve located in front of the seat.

Some valves are one way and some are two way. Many, if not all, tractors shipped with no valve-only had a plate where the valve mounts. Most valves were aftermarket add-ons.

Here is a picture of the Hydraulic control. the lever on the left shoots out oil in one direction and nothing in the other direction. the lever on the right is fixed and doesn't move or do anything.
