Can i use a hydrostatic drive to replace a hydraulic pump? I have a 400 versatile with hydrostatic drive and was wondering if i can use it to replace my hydraulic pump on my 340 Ford uniloader?

No.

The hydrostatic pump and motor operate as a nearly closed system, the oil from the motor returns to the pump to be circulated again.

A small "charge pump" pulls a SMALL AMOUNT of oil from the reservoir to replace any oil that leaks to the "case drains" in the pump and motor.

The hydrostatic pump itself is NOT made to draw a full flow of oil to feed an "open center" system.

Ok, thank you.

While I'm reasonably certain of the accuracy of my reply, I was hoping a few others would chime in to confirm it, or post a counterpoint!

NO such luck, tho!

But, ya, it ain't gonna work!
