Hydreco front mount loader pump

I was told this pump came off of a 8n tractor with a loader, Its a hydreco pump model number 1512D10B7 and has other numbers on it of F6835 and P-1483. Does anyone have any info on this pump? I am building a loader for a 3000 and want to use this pump if possible. thanks

If it came off an 8N it runs CCW (possibly CW as well) and probably makes somewhere in the neighborhood of 8GPM @ 2000 RPM. What more do you need to know? Hydreco is still in business but that is an old model number.

Thats really all the info I have off of this pump. I wonder if this pump would be enough for a loader for a Ford 3000 diesel or would just running the loader off of the tractor hydralics be better.

Tractor hydraulics on a 3000 only makes 4.8 GPM - pretty skimpy for any decent size loader. You would be far better off with an external pump. The Ford 730 Series loader was designed with the 3000 series in mind and came with a 10 gallon reservoir and depending on model either a 14.0, 14.2, 19.4 or 19.8 GPM pump. A brand new 15 GPM pump can be purchased for $100.

Yes - any of the these Dynamic GF-20 pumps would be fine just make sure you specify straight keyed shaft and CCW rotation. I buy them on a regular basis - made in SC. Depending on your loader 15 GPM may be more than you need or want. Once you have sized the cylinders calculate the flow needed to get you a lift time of roughly 4 seconds.

Thank you for the info. Would a splined shaft work with this setup http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Ford-8N-9N-2N-Loader-Hydraulic-Pump-Drive-Set-/320718095979?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aac49c66b

The loader pump is typically mounted forward of th radiator and shaft driven off the crankshaft pulley. Some versions mount the pump on the loader frame - other setups mount it to the tractor itself. That's something you will have to work out.

The parts on eBay are for an N-series and will not work on a 3000 tractor. You will need a hub similar that matches the mounting holes on the 3000 crankshaft pulley. I do not know off hand what the part number for that is. You will also need a drive shaft that matches teh hub and a flexible shaft 1coupler on the pump end. I will be happy to help you with this if you would like to call me. Trying to do it back and forth here is not very effective.

(quoted from post at 17:22:03 10/02/11) Do you know where I can get a 2 spool valve for a loader as cheap or close to those pump prices? thanks again

I'm afaraid a new valve will be a bit more expensive than the pump. A two lever 25 GPM valve with float on one spool is $140 at Surplus Center. A joystick version which is excellent for a loader is $300. If you go with a 10 GPM or less system you can get a joystick version for $230.
