hydrilics stuck

I have a Farmall M, runs good, but I was pulling a disc on wheels with a hydrilic cylinder to raise and lower the wheels and where you connect the hoses to the back of the tractor the two plungers or whatever they are called on the hoses that you connect the hoses from the disc are sticking out and will not go back in. Why are they doing this? Sorry if I can't explain better.

Sometimes hydraulic pressure will prevent the couplers from hooking up. You might try shutting off the tractor and cycling the control lever a few times. If the pressure is on the implement end you can push the nipple in on the hitch or somewhere pointed away from yourself the best you can. Oil will spray out.
