Hydroswing seized up on PTO

My Case 8360 hydroswing swather is locked on my PTO.
Any ideas on how to 'unstuck' this would be greatly appreciated as I need to use this tractor. Thanks!

The tractor PTO is locking/not turning/stalling the engine when operated, or the Swather is locking up? The model/brand of tractor also is critical. Jim

If you mean the PTO coupling is stuck, I've had good luck stacking a couple larger nuts into the U joint against the PTO shaft and then using a taper wedge to drive them in, thus not putting any forces on the tractor PTO shaft and potentially damaging something in the tractor.

Hello jloe..( ), welcome to YT! Any chance you could post a photo of the locking system type. Sounds like wp has a pretty good approach if that is workable.

My pump gets stuck from time to time. Just a quick twist in the direction of travel frees it right up. Takes the tension off so it can slide.

Those pumps just slide onto the pto. The tension of the large hoses is what keeps the pump on the shaft.

I should have been more detailed. The tractor's (Kubota M-9540) PTO and the swather are both working. Can't get the swather off the PTO. Wondering if I put it on crooked or .....
Thank you!

Thank you.
This one doesn't have a PTO shaft, runs off the hydraulics.

Not sure I posted my replies in the right place but hopefully I'll get the hang of this forum quickly as I appreciate the feedback. Great resource!

Thanks for the welcome! Wish I looked like JLo. 🤣
I thought about taking some pix, right after I drained it and tore it apart - so we shall see how that move turns out...

Here is what I now have after my last attempt.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Shaun,
Thank you so much for this tip! This worked and finally have that pto unstuck. Hopefully can now find some replacement parts.

Thanks to everyone who responded. It's great to have this forum as a resource! This could be the modern day tech equivalent of going down to the feed store to hit up the old timers for advice.
Seriously, thanks to everyone.

Good to know re the assembly. Again, thanks for your time and advice.
Way back in the day, as the daughter, I cooked for the hands and ran parts. This mechanic-ing, without much experience, is hard for me - so I greatly appreciate being able to ask questions!
