Anyone know where to buy a longer shaft? The one i ordered was 93/4 " long and is too short to fit through the grill.

Whats the shaft diameter and how many splines?

You can always use a shaft coupler and an extension

There is a 13" one available from this site.

For tractor models 8N, 9N, 2N. 3/4 inch shaft diameter, 13 inches in length, 6 spline on one end and .187 inch keyway on other end. Mates with end hub 192161 or 54C2055. Other end mates with coupler L601-14. Reference ID: 194354

So the issue is the adapter I have is a ten spline. Which was a royal pain to get in there. Had to take the whole front end off. So I like the oldhokie's idea. I will measure that shaft tonight.

Thats what I suspected. If its any solace they are all hard to "get in there".
