I have a 1967 Jake chief

I need a reverse gear box for it. I think I am missing a part I tore it apart but something is missing. I would like to see it broke down, if anyone has pictures of it I would really appreciate it.

Back when I was fooling with my Jacobsen, I got a reverse gearbox off Ebay. This was in the early 2000s. I was never able to find the needle bearings for the main gearbox, however.
At that time someone on the internet had the parts breakdowns posted for the Peerless gearbox, with part numbers.
Sadly, the parts I needed were no longer available. And since then, Tecumseh, the parent company for Peerless has gone bankrupt.

I am also thinking that certain similar year Deere riders used almost the same gearbox with the exception that the input shaft was not splined for the reverse geabox.
Jacobsen also re-branded their mower for Ford for a few years while they made the Chief series. They were also lettered for Minneapolis-Moline, but I wouldn't part out a Moline to fix my Jacobsen.

4549, if you can figure out the crossover from your Chief to the proper Minneapolis Moline model, the Floyd County Museum has the Minneapolis Moline Town & Country parts manuals available.

I don't go on this part of YT very often so I may be a litle late for this discussion.
I have had a great interest in both the Angle-Iron and Tube-Framed Jake built Fords for many, many years and have a few of both styles.
I have an extra reversing gearbox laying around the place somewhere which I would be willing to sell.
Finding it may be a struggle as I have not seen it in a long time. LOL
I'm assuming this is the animal you're looking for?
