I think she's dead...

My 1940 9N isn't doing very well...

Last fall she developed a fairly bad radiator leak, not having the money I just added water to get me by. As winter approached I added a gallon and a half of antifreeze and ran the tractor for about two hours. Thinking this would have completely moved out the water from the engine block and mixed it with the antifreeze.

Apparently the water pump didnt' do it's job because my block is cracked now. I don't seem to have water in the oil yet? the side of the block is bulged and water poors out.

Is there any hope? Does she need a heart transplant? Any suggestions from the doctors on the forum?

I'm heart broken, she didn't look like much but she was such a great ole girl!

if it's a worker and not cracked into an oil galley, I'd try to braze it... might last forever.. and is a cheap fix. silver solder is also possible with a plumbers torch.. this only applies if no water in oil.

Honestly I haven't ran it long enough to get her hot. Not that I guess it would really matter but I was guessing that if there is any cracking internally that it would probably be the key to open it up and then pollute the oil... however if I need the crank or other items it would be nice to have the inside as moisture free as possible...

It was my intent to eventually rebuild her to her former glory of battleship grayness, but it just keep looking worser and worser for that possibility.

Old send me an email with details on your stuff too, less miles would be good but you never know what one might have to do...

My e-mail is always open on here so all you have to do is click on send e-mail and you can e-mail me direct. I have almost enough stuff here to build a whole 9N/2N/8N mutt with Sherman over drive to boot
