ID this disc please.

Bought this disc last week. Need a model # to get a wheel seal. Got the bearing from the auto parts store but I'm sure the seal will have to come from Deere. Thanks Jody

Jody, remove the wheel from the hub. Take it to your favorite auto parts store. THEY can measure your new bearing and hub to get a seal. Not necessarily NEEDS a JD seal !!! Nothing special about it. They need to measure bearing ID, diameter of hub and depth. Simple enough ?? A good parts man can find you a seal !!!

Is that a 10ft disc? My uncle had one like that but a 8 ft. Your looks wider than the one he had.

Ya, 10 ft. Nice straight disc. Not all bent up and welded on. Needs some blades on the front gang. Saved it from being scraped.

I believe this is an "RW". The RWA had a different style hitch with the hinge & spring back near the frame. We bought a new 19ft 2in BW in the early 60s & it's hitch was like this disc. Ours soon developed side play in the spring/adjustment area. JD soon changed the hitch style & renamed it RWA for the smaller sizes & BWA for the larger sizes.

RW/RWA disk harrows weren't in the same league with BW/BWA disk harrows. RW/RWA had angle iron frame and BW/BWA had sq tubing frames and would plow deeper. I also think the RW/RWA werwe built in an earlier time frame than BW/BWA. I remember selling new BWA's with 3020/4020's. I do know RW's had narrower disk spacings than RWA. Photo is BW main frame
