I'm saying a Massey Harris 81. The 22's had flat bars on the front grill, the 81 had a louvred style grill like this tractor has.

It's an 81. They were the only ones that the front side panels came down to the frame. The rest of the sheet metal is the same as the 20. A 22 has the same sheet metal except for the grille which has flat bars like a 44.

After carefully weighting evidence presented three votes for M-H 22, and 5 votes and a photo for the 81, I'll go with the 81 bunch.

(quoted from post at 05:43:33 11/04/15) I don't care what it is. But it looks in too good of shape to rot away as a flower planter.
agree....and it's cheap and the motor still turns.

Could be a 20, the hinged sidepanels on a 20 are the same as on an 81 or 82, they go all the way down to the frame at the front of the panel. Not a 22, those panels are shorter in the front and don't reach the frame. Why not find the serial number, the model shows up before the number ........... it is hand stamped into the top of the transmission case, numbers are large but they might not be too deep in the cast iron.

ts 250 miles away. Waiting for the guy to get the time to send me the numbers.

(quoted from post at 10:31:47 11/19/15) Never got a serial number. I'm going to pick it up this Sunday.
I passed on this one.....has a foot long crack down the side of the block. Lots of good parts if someone needs some. I could haul it north. Making a trip with an empty trailer up to Springfield, Ill next month.
