Ideas for a lathe an mill

Hi all, been trying to figure out how to make some extra dollars. I bought a mill and lathe last year and while I haven't become an expert by a long shot, i would like to try making something thats sale-able and hone my skills in the process. Any ideas what I might be able to make and put on ebay? I saw some spin-on oil filter adapters that look easy enough but don't want to steal someone elses idea.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

God Bless

For starters you could make an aluminum handled brass/plastic/steel headed mallet. I made one for myself 6 years ago, 1 1/4 alum. rod with a 5/8-18 unf thread on it. I have an alum head and a delrin plastic head for it, just screw it on.

What tooling do you have?

Shaft couplers, collars and adapters in different sizes. Always in demand and easy to make. And all patents have probably expired 100 years ago. Don't know if you can compete with China on price though.

That power beyond plate sounds interesting. I just did a quick google and there looked like many have brought up the need for one. However, I didn't find any pictures or what it is. Is there a web site or anywhere to look at one? I have a massey myself that needs a divertor valve to operate a loader and I was trying to think of an easier way to do that.

Thanks for the ideas everyone!

I'll buy two.... I had to tee into the main hydraulic lines and with that little pump that means you have steering or a loader, never both.
