Identify Black painted tractor?

I know someone trying to identify a tractor from their childhood (mid-1960s I think):

"From what I remember, it was painted black overall and had white lettering and rubber tires, the front tires were far apart. The wheels were either silver or white and the back wheels were dished in. They used the tractor for pulling a gang mower. I'm not sure what type of fuel it used, but I suspect it used gasoline. I grew up in a farming and minning community north of Pittsburgh in the Allegheny Valley"

I've NEVER seen a black tractor, other than steamers. Does anyone have a clue what it could be?

Hi Brandon : I'm Thinking it's a Worthington. They were Assembled from Ford lite truck components including 1 ton rear axles with dual wheels, hence the "inverted dish wheels' , in the fifties they used Continental F163 Power units. The one I saw just had a Worthington nameplate screwed down over the embossed "Red Seal " on the hood !! I believe that was their only application, Lawn Mowing.

i hear you could get hydrolics for em'. Seen a picture on an 8N site once, i'd post a link if i could remember which one.

IH used to deliver several new tractors and implements a year to a big farm just up the road, well it was big back in the early 1900s. By the late 50s, the owner of the farm was having trouble with the equipment getting stolen ,and he would end up having to pay for it, so he asked IH to deliver these peices painted black, since it was at night when the equipment would get stolen. It stopped immediately.
