Ignition Switch Failed...

After putting up hay last weekend, I gave all the tractors a good pressure washing, and afterwards, the 8N wouldn't start. Figured it was water in the distributor cap, so I pulled it and wiped it out good. The tractor popped and ran on two cylinders for about 15 seconds and quit again.

Figured I'd have to pull the distributor for a complete clean, but then remembered it might save me some work to run a proper troubleshooting procedure first by checking for voltage to the coil.

Weren't none.

Checked voltage to the switch, and sure enough, it wasn't getting through, on or off.

Found a heavy-duty toggle switch in the parts bin which fixed the problem right up, and will probably look for another keyed switch next time I'm to town.

I did the same thing only after mowing pastures, it (early 8N) quit and not sparkies at all now. Still investigating, think I might have had badly corroded points. I'm jumping across a bad key switch (have one to put in) so it's not that.
