ignition switch wiring

The wiring diagram shows the ignition switch with a red wire (green stripe) and a yellow wire. Yellow wire runs to the power distribution point on the resistor block and the red runs to one side of the resistor. My starter switch has black and yellow wires....am I correct in assuming that black correlates to red/green and yellow to yellow?? Cannot find the answer on any sites...Ford 8N Front mount, 6volt, positive gnd.,new type two post ammeter. Thank you in advance

What you suggest will work. It actually doesn't matter which goes where, as long as the two wires go to the two places you mention.

The ignition switch is a simple on/off type switch so what color the wire is doesn't matter what so ever. So if the wires where any color of the rainbow you could hook them up either way as long as you have it wired as per the diagram. I.E. forget the colors and hook it up one side to one place an the other side to the other

As Old & Cooter said....volts are color blind; it doesn't matter which wire goes where as long as you hook up one to the terminal block & the other one to the resistor.
