Ignition Timing D-15 Series II

What is the correct rpm to adjust the timing?

This model has a pointer at the front engine pulley and of course the flywheel is marked 25 degrees.

Both line up at around 1000 rpm.

Thanks

I worked as a tune tech, timed many engines by ear. I advance the distributor to highest rpm at idle and then back off the timeing so the engine rpm just drops. If you have the luxury of it being your machine, you can adjust in the field for pre ignition or what not. Most manufactures run engines abit retarded for less stress on the motor and liability.
