IH 1086 PTO drive bear replacement

Hi, so I am working on my IH 1086 and I have the pto drive gear and I need to know if there's supposed to be a bearing here (look at the images). It did not have one when I tore it down but someone else was in here before me

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
