Im looking to upgrade my ancient, fixin to be a money pit gleaner K. I would like to stay with a Gleaner F2, or F3, but im not having any luck finding one. I have found several 1420's for what seems to be decent money. I have also found a couple that need the rotor cage replaced for cheap. Is that normal wear or did they try to run chisel shank through it. Big deal to replace? Big $ What about parts availability etc. Good machines or should i stick with gleaner? Thanks in advance for the advise guys.

You can probably get a 1440 or even a 1460 for about the same money. A lot more machine and parts are much easier to get (several aftermarket companies) and many more of the bigger machines were sold.

I think you will think you have died and went to heaven with an Axial Flow....great machines.

We have run 1460"s since 1982. You can spend big money repairing those machines when they are worn. Good machines easy to work on. For small farms I would look for a good 715, or 4400.
