Does anyone have experience with a 1620 IH combine? I've combined 20 acres of barley and about 50 acres of oats with a 1020 flex head. Everything seemed to work well. Thinking of buying the machine with a 6 row corn head. It has 1900 hours. Just wondering if there is any inherent problems with this model? I'm new to combining. Would like to draw on your knowledge. Thanks, Randy

I think you found a good easy to set combine to learn on.

Don't put hopper extensions on it as to overload the weight capacity and that combine should work fine for you.

A 6 row corn head will be a load for a 1620 but go slow and it will work fine as well.

At 1900 hours keep an eye on the shaker bushings for wear and the rasp bars on the cylinderfor wear. Other wise that combine will give you many more hours of use.

That should be a good little combine. I would stick to a 4 row corn head. We had a 1640 bought brand new and ran 6r30 head and 20ft platform and ran it for 20+ yrs. Those size heads were enough for it year in and year out.
