IH 276 Hydraulic System issue

Well, things were going well until two days ago and now the hydraulics aren't working at all.

I started it up to do some bush-hogging, and I started noticing the edge of the hog was dragging the ground. I raised it up and seemed to be skipping like air pulsing. It stopped when I quit raising, but then it started dragging later and the 3pt had dropped to its lowest level and didn't move.

This happened before, and I flushed the hydraulic lines and filter multiple times. I ended up putting a replacement hydraulic pump on it and all seems great until this weekend.

Upon closer inspection it seems the pump isn't cycling now. I drained the hydraulic fluid and pulled the suction filter again to check out. The fluid looked fine and there was nothing in the filter.

I refilled anyway to try and nothing. It seems the new replacement pump has gone bad. With it stated and me watching it doesn't appear fluid is circulating.

I started experiencing the same issue with the old pump, but it now seems that pump may have not been the issue completely as I thought.

Anything I've missed?

Well, I pulled the prior new pump and installed another pump and the hydraulic's are still non-functional.

I'm pulled the cover under the seat to confirm that when I move the handles things are working underneath.

Anything else I can check? Replaced pump, new filter, new fluid.

I'll fire it up to see if fluid is being circulated. If not, I guess I'm pulling things apart again.

Well, it seems the manifold under the seat needs to come off for inspection. I've read there is a screen in it so that's the next step in figuring out what's going on

So does this look at all familiar?

Thank you, it does. This will help as I continue to go through the system.

I haven't removed the piece under the seat to expose 8 and 13-17. I'm hoping there is a screen or something that is blocked causing my problem.

8 will probably be either inline or inside of the transmission. It will also probably be a screen. I don't really know anything about that particular model but most will be similar to bigger models .

Ok, then I'm lost as I've replaced the suction filter and pump but nothing that didn't fix it. Not sure where else is to look.

Apparently this means you saw no circulation. Did the new pumps come with gears mounted on them? If so are you sure they were the same size? Or are you sure there is a key in it if required? Just reaching into the possible barrel of odd things that could happen. Do you have a repair manual for your tractor? If not when you run into problems with hydraulics you are kind of against a wall without one. The I
&T brand IH-32 manual is an out source manual covering multiple IH models which includes yours. I have no idea how specific it gets towards hydraulic trouble shooting on your specific tractor. I do know that the majority of the models it list as covered by it have a far different hydraulic system in comparison to yours.
I am having trouble finding someone offering a true IH repair manual for your tractor. I do find them available for the B276 but I am not sure how close the two are to being interchangeable. I will caution you about any manual offered as a FREE download, for whatever reason hackers have found this as a good avenue to dump viruses on your computer.

The pump came without a gear on it, I removed the gear and key from the old pump and swapped it over.

At that point it was working, and then the hydraulic's just stopped. I didn't notice as I was Bush hogging so I didn't need to adjust it for a while. Now nothing is moving.

I know the auction filter to pump line is clear. I guess I could pull the return to tank line to verify nothing is restricting it. The system seems fairly simple so I'm not sure what else it could be

Thanks for the help, no manual for the same reason you mentioned. Not able to find anything, but the 434 is very close to it so I refer to documents on it

I suppose the gear could have come off the shaft if it is not in the timing gear. I had that happen once on an 806 the nut came off letting the gear follow suit.
