Someone wanted to see pictures of an IH 315 combine. Here are the pictures Tom Graham sent me of his 315. Also pictures of my 205 which is similar but I beleive a smaller machine. Hope this is useful. Al

Looking at your 205, it looks like a self propelled 82 pull type. Does any body know if that is the actual case? Nice looking combines!

Did these have straw walkers,or did they just have a single big raddle? There were a few in the area here in Texas where I live, and they were all equipped with hydrostats. I never ran one, and never understood why, but they were considered a poor excuse for a combine...I had a chance to buy one for 750 once, but passed. For some reason, despite its reputation here, I regret passing it up.

315's had straw racks. They were very short and prone to plugging and breakage as I remember. They weren't a real popular machine.

David, I believe the 205 is basicly and updated 203. Our neighbor had a 203 and the major difference was the 203 had a 4 cyl engine and our 205 has a 6 cylinder. It is 221 cu inch gas which I believe is the same as in a 460 tractor. Not sure what the 203 evolved from as I think it was the 1st combine IH made with the swing out grain tank. The staw walker crankshaft was a weak point as I did break one. Al
