I am trying to remove the rear rim on my 1970's IH 434 tractor. I bought a 1- 1/16 impact socket. Too small, I tried 1-1/8 is too big??? Metric?? Any help or hints to remove the rear tire would be helpful. Thanks

Info I find says it should be 5/8- 18 thread, 1-1/16" across the flats. Has it got a buildup of rust and paint on the flats? Did you try tapping the 1-1/16" socket on?

I will try with a wire brush today. It was a new socket so I didn't want to beat it if I had to return it. I also tried the wrench on it. I will try again today. Thanks for the input

It is 28 mm socket size, 1 1/16 definitely didn't fit. Thanks for the input
