IH 435 Knotter

I have a 435 with the all twine knotter. I bought this baler just to have this newer knotter. The right side would give me problems once in a while, but the left side never missed a knot. Once I got the right side working the left started missing. It misses all the time. The twine knife swings over and will not return like it is stuck. If I take my knife and cut the twine where the twine knife is, the knife goes back and I can feed in more hay and the knot ties perfectly. The knife insert appears to be sharp. What could I be missing?

I have no experience with an ih baler, but when our Massey starts acting up the usual culprit is a missing or broken spring. other than that, worn toilets and other components.

Get a manual for it and study the heck out of it, when that fails talk to the guys in your old IH dealers shop, look for the oldest guy there... good luck and there a great baler...
