IH 444 gas

I'm looking at an International 444 gas utility. The
guy claims it was running fine until he washed it
before I came to look at it. It now starts hard and
has a steady miss/pop. I also noticed when it
misses it blows a puff of smoke out behind the
carburetor towards the block. Any ideas are helpful

Dry the inside of the distributor cap using WD40 after a towel. Jim

And spray the plug and coil wires with Wd 40 while you are at it. My 2424 would not start a couple of weeks ago when it warmed up and got damp. The entire tractor was covered with condensation inside the open-air shed. I sprayed it up and it did start a couple days later - I was out of WD 40 at the time.
