IH 454 throttle linkage.

I've adjusted the linkage to where there is no more adjustment, I can only get it to rev.up to 2K rpms, PTO rpms are 2200.Anyone in IH land that can help me?

...if it's the diesel, as I recall, what you need to do is adjust the linkage to make sure that the throttle is touching the low idle stop just at the point where the lever is at low idle, then move the lever to the high idle position; it should hit the high idle stop just before that point (readjust if it doesn't). Now if the RPMs when the throttle hits the two stops aren't around 750 and 2400, you will need to loosen the locknuts on the low or high idle screws and readjust the screws until the RPMs are correct. Then you'll perhaps need to adjust the linkage again.

Someone who has done this more recently than me can correct me as needed...
