IH 504

Looking for the cap to replace the Hydraulic fluid in an IH 504. Any suggestions?

I thought they where just a pipe plug.

It may be, but where is it? I even asked the local Case/IH dealer and they couldn't tell me.

On the tractor"s deck, near your left foot. Has a square hole on top. Rear end is the reservoir.

Just to left of gear shift lever. Round thing ( pipe plug ) has 3/4 " square hole in it. Use 3/4 " ratchet extension, insert into hole and turn to remove . Fill level indicator is found on left side of trans housing beneath foot rest and clutch pedal. Pipe plug with small hex head bolt in it. Remove bolt, fill until it flows from hole.

Thank you!! The hydraulic system controls the steering and I use the tractor weekly to mow, and do odd jobs around our property.
