I bought this tractor at an estate sale last fall. I'm starting to go over it. Back story.. the former owner bought it new and farmed 260 acres. It had set for 8 years unused, before his death. It only has 1368 hours... and it looks it,EXCEPT rust on anything that moves. I started by spraying down the rusty joints and yokes on the clutch, brakes, hydraulic levers and gear shift. Everything has freed up except the gear shift for the '6 speeds'. It acts like it's between 2 gears. I took the cover off, in the cab. This gear shift has a U shaped yoke at the bottom end. I can see that it should go over a shaft that has 2 flat sides. This shaft needs to rotate about 1 /8 of a rotation for the yoke to go over it. I put a vice grip on the shaft but it won't rotate.... but it does wiggle a little in and out. This shaft goes underneath the seat, and is in front of the fuel tank. I can't see what it does. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Tom
