IH 656 Head Gasket

I'm installing a new head gasket on my 656. It has the 263 gas. The gasket is copper. Should I use copper coat compound on the gasket or the spray? What works better? Thank you.

i have been using permatex high tack spray sealer on all my gaskets including the 282 diesel head gasket with good success. have never tried copper coat.

Copper coat spray is reliable. Two full(both sides) modest applications about 10 minutes apart. Set the head and torque as described in the manual while the Copper coat is still soft, but not wet. Jim
