Ih 656 Shifter update

Justin, for your TA adjustment here is a link to a good
step by step of the clutch and TA adjustment by
Pete23. He used to post here also, has not been here
for a while. To clarify the nail or 1/8 inch bit he is
talking about is fitting in through the hole where the
pin was removed from. The clearance you are
measuring is created when the rod yoke and the TA
shaft release lever are out of alignment when the TA
lever is back pulling up the rod. Or if explained better
when you are hitching something to a tractor drawbar
and you back up to far the hole is oblong and closed to
far to get the normal hitch pin to fit, I hope you follow.
When he talks about the cam plate that is the separate
plate on the TA clutch shaft with a finger pointing
forward that the clutch pushes down on. He is
probably meaning the 3/16 inch movement should be
at the end of the finger. What he talks about in the end
of running up an incline is a good test. I will let it go at
that and wait for a reply if you need something else
clarified. Leave a reply here if you see this otherwise I
may email you.
