IH 656carb issues

I have a IH 656 with a IH carb with the solenoid disabled. I want to install a load mixture screw that needs 32 threads per inch and .423 in diameter. None of the older generation of carbs have that size thread in the carb mixture opening. The only replacable screws are 3/8 x 24. Has anyone had this experience?

Sounds like you're missing the packing nut, which is 7/16-32. You can't just thread the solenoid out and thread in the needle. You need the whole assembly 44-47 in the diagram below.
