I have a ih 2 bottom trip rope plow told it a 8 where can i buy shears for it thanks

I'm assuming you don't have to do to many acres a year with this plow. Just take any old shears and weld them on the bottom. I do it all the time. Real low heat with welder and they will stay on there. Unless this plow is for show. Then you would want the real thing.

Just have to start searching ads and ebay. They are not available anythere anymore. Another option would be to take a pattern to a blacksmith and ask him make you some.

Other way to go would be to update the plow to the newer style moldboards with throw away shares and points.

will newer bottoms fit my plow and if so what do i need to look for when looking for new bottoms which model number

With a torch and an angle grinder you could probably make any share suck into the ground fine.

Another plowman and I have had success welding on throw-away lays to the share. You have to trim a little of the share of first, obviously.

Though I don't approve of it, all IH bottoms interchange, so any model of newer plow will work. You might find a 540 or something of that nature on an auction for cheap.
