IH 806 diesel engine

A good friend locked his IH 806 last fall running a 13 inch grain auger. What else used the D361 diesel motor. The rest of the tractor is not worth a total rebuild but maybe worth a used engine. I have not found any good tractor motors.

As far as I know,806 is the only tractor use the D361. 1206 used DT361.But odds are you wont find a good uesd one. So,rebuild,or repower.Unless the rest of the tractor is total junk,it IS worth a total rebuild.

Steve Thank you for the information. The trouble is the rest of the tractor is pretty ragged out. I think I can find him a better complete tractor for less money than fixing his.

Unless there was some Construction equipment that used the engine or an other self propelled piece of equipment that engine is it's own all by itself. I believe a 407 from and 856 would fit in there in place of the 361 though I would check with some more knowledgeable minds than mine on that. The Dt is just a Turboed version of the D-361 .

It may not need a total rebuild, depending on how it locked up. Take it apart first and see what is wrong with it. Then you can determine whether you want to pursue an overhaul.
