IH 844 injector nozzles

My 844 is smoking quite a bit at idle, has been for years, but doesn't burn a lick of oil which is pointing me towards injector haze. I have a guy near by that is able to test them for me, but I can't find new nozzles for if they are bad. Anybody know where to find them?

Old tips need removed from the bodies first to see what the tip number is in place now..

If it just idles around go work it hard for a couple days then quit idling it around open the throttle up so it runs at least 1000 RPM and your smoking will probably go away also idling let diesel fuel by the rings diluting the oil in the crankcase making it smell like diesel fuel. I would start there before pulling the injectors. Now if it has 10,000 or more hours on it then that may be a different case. Your 844 Just a later version of the 574 and a bit more HP Our 574 has never had the injectors out of the head since new. It will smoke while idling because dad will not open the throttle up when using it just putts around with it like he had a gas engine. I open it up and run it open more and it will quit smoking till the next time it is idled around. With a loader it also gets a lot more idling jobs like filling the bucket with wood where you move it every so often so it idles while doing that. I would like to go plow with it for a few days but no plow that small around here. I do disc with it once in awhile but not so handy with a loader on it. Our 674 I do disc with some in the summer to keep it from the same fate. IT also runs auger in winter so is wide open during that.

I've been working it pretty hard all year, in the winter it still gets lots of idling for warm up cause it's -20 to -40c here. But it worked pretty hard this summer pulling plows, haying, and this winter with plowing snow I've been loading it down to almost stalling out in 2H, about 4 hours of near wide open working plenty hard, still smokes. It's smoked for years. Oil never really smells like diesel when we change it. Any idle time it gets is around 1200rpm if it's going to be sitting more than a few minutes, even when it's warm out in the summer I still idle it up. Also as it's starting it seems to have one cylinder that puffs more smoke as it's an intermittent puff. Just lashed the valves and found they were all super tight, one was at 0.002" and another I couldn't even get a feeler gauge in, but it's still smoking after that. It has around 4-5k hours on it if I had to guess

Do you have the 844 with D-246 engine or the 844-S with the D-268 engine?
Have you owned it since new? Many years ago my cousin owned an 844 4WD and in the fall when he was plowing he used to screw the HP screw on the STOP-START-RUN lever to the maximum so the lever on the side of the pump would limit on the HP screw bracket and he claimed that would boost the HP to over 80 HP but when the tractor was idling you could see smoke haze out the exhaust, so he would pull the STOP-START-RUN knob on the dash up a little and that would move the STOP-START-RUN lever on the side of the pump back off the limit and decrease the fuel while idling and the smoke haze would disappear.
