IH 856 MCV Test Ports

Hello All, looking for some starting advice as I look to diagnose some MCV issues on an 856. Mainly trying to gather the necessities before tearing into this winter.

Specifically, would anyone happen to know fitting or port sizes for what I would need to check pressures? On that same topic, any best recommendations on manuals to order? A bit confusing on what would be needed/included in each between I&T, service, etc as I have not gone through this before.

Any advice on either is much appreciated.

One of the test tools needed were only available to dealers . SOOOOO unless you have a chance to buy out a I H service dept ya are sorta out of luck our ya want spend over 3500 bucks for a rebuilt flow rater . SOOOOO what seams to be the malfunction . I have a lot of years working on IH . and yes i bought out and old I H dealers service dept 's special tools because if your going to work on them and do the job correctly having the factory special tools helps along as being a Hy cap dealer at one time .

If you have no steering and brakes with no PTO or Remotes look up inside the clutch cover and see if the shaft is turning if not then you found your problem without testing. IF just checking out pressures for a TA or other problems then yes you need a flow rater. The flow rater is not so much the cost as all the fittings that are needed to do the testing. Especially if you are going to check several different tractor models and brands.
