Re the recent 884-TA discussion on the Farmall/IH forum, I have come to the conclusion (in my mind, at least) that a default sprag must exist in the cage or housing just in front of the TA itself, and that the sprag clutch in the TA unit, when disengaged, simply renders that sprag ineffective. Anyone know exactly what is in that cage that functions as a permanent sprag? And, what must be done or removed to eliminate it? I have also posted this on the Farmall/IH forum in the hope that someone here might know. TIA!!
