IH A-22 sickle mower

I am looking a operators and parts manual for this machine. I have purchased the mower and it looks like the front mounting bracket around the tube (housing) is broken loose and hangs free. previous owner said it shook him bad. Not good with computers but I tried to draw a circle around the mount. Could someone confirm the model number for me, it is mounted my Super A. Thinking it is a A-22 mower? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. That is the remains of what was once an A-22 (or later on a 22).

I have an F-28. Like Delta said, Binder Books. They had both the operator's manual and the parts manual for mine.

How do you tear one apart to fix it?

The picture shows what looks to be a broken weld, could someone verify that these are to be one piece?

That part is the main bearing for the drive. the weighted wheel on the other side has a offset journal that drives the pitman arm (not there) which drives the sickle bar back and forth (not there) which has sickle section knives all along it. (Not there) the cutter bar is there and probably needs new ledger plates put on it. You need many new or good used parts. Jim

Yes, two different machines mine is not pictured however mine is broken like the second picture in the truck bed. Can it be welded back together?

The "broken" piece on the left should not be welded to the piece with the grease fitting. It should be welded to the tube inside the piece with the grease fitting. It is impossible to tell from the picture whether that weld is broken or not, too much grease in the way. I believe the original weld was on the other side of the "broken" piece anyway.

More than likely. Clean it so well it shines. remove the eccentric wheel, shaft and retainers. Be aware it will need a new bushing/bearing. Jim

How is this unit taken apart to do the welding? Will both the flywheel and the rear pulley come off? Set screws, I see a keyway in the rear pulley.
