Hi I might buy a IH B275 but I was wondering
about implements ? Can you put a plow on one as
you would any other tractor or would it be alot
of mods ? What is your overview of it ? I will
be using it to drag trees and run a rock rake.
I only have about 5 acres to manage. Is their
anything I should look at specifically for it
being a deisel ? I have never owned one so Im
not sure what to check while going over it.

If you are talking about a 3pt moldboard then yes, they have a standard cat 1 3pt. If you are talking a front blade for snow, they you will most likely have to make something up from another application, but wouldn't be that hard, due to a number of bosses in the frame.

P.S. make sure the heat risers (glow plug like device) work, they are a bear to start if not working properly. Other wise great on fuel and not a bad engine overall.

I've got a pair of B275s. Both diesels. Also have a 3414 industrial which is near the same tractor and that one has the BC144 gas engine. B275s came in gas. and two versions of diesels. Early has a CAV inline pump with an air-governor. Later ones have a CAV rotary pump with a centrifugal governor. Great tractors. Live hydraulics and live PTO and dual-range trans with a very slow creeper gear. I've run double 14" plows, 5 foot rototiller, and 6 foot two-stage snow-blower on mine with no problems.

I don't know what the other poster was referring to with "heat risers." The diesels have slow-heat glow-plugs and like any indirect-injected diesel - will not start without them working unless you've got an electric block heater. Bosch has new fast-heat plugs that work great on the B275 (BD144 diesel).

They are great tractors. I have one. I consider it pretty advanced for the year (1960) with Live PTO, Live Hydraulics, and 2 speed rear end giving you 8 forward gears and 2 reverse. I got my glow plugs working for about $20. All I had to do was order 4 of the plugs off ebay. Now I can start the tractor in 20 degree weather perfectly fine. I also put new tie rod ends and drag link ends on it to tighten up the steering. I can now go full speed down the road with no shimmy if I wanted to. I uploaded 2 pics of mine.

Here's my oldest (no loader) with in-line pump and air-governor, and my newer (with loader) with rotary pump. Both great tractors. I paid $800 for the one with the loader. Pretty good for a diesel tractor with live PTO and hydraulics and dual-range trans.
The older one I got for $500 but had to totally rebuild the engine.

Went to look at it. The guy new I was coming 3 days ago. We walked out in the feild and their it was in 3 feet of snow. He didnt even shovel it out. I said can you start it ? He looked at me with a stupid look on his face and said it needs a battery......I said well why didnt you put one in it. He said I thought you just wanted to look at it.....Im pretty sure that tractor will be setting there for years to come
