IH Danco Belly Mower for Cub

Hi all,

I m new on here so I apologize if this post is in the wrong forum. I have a question about locating parts for what I believe is an IH Danco belly mower (there are no serial tags left on it) on my Lowboy. It is in desperate need of new blades and I ve not had any luck locating replacements. Any advice at all would be much appreciated.

I would just measure the blade for length and width and also the mounting hole and go from there. A lot of places should be able to match them for you. Also if they are a right or left discharge blade. It should be easy and if it's a left hand discharge , check and make sure they probably are a left hand thread on the mounting bolt.

That was my thought too. I took one of blades to our local Case/IH/Farmall dealer (who also happens to be a Woods dealer). They measured the blades (length and hole arrangement) against everything they could order and couldn?t find one that matched. I?ve tried every local place from Rural King and TSC to all the different tractor dealers and no one can seem to find a blade that matches what?s on this mower.

Well, I thought I had my receipt for mine with an Oregon number on it, but its not where its suppose to be. Anywho, Oregon does still make a blade that will work and if I find that receipt this afternoon Ill post it, but Hamilton Bobs show blades for it, but the pic isn't what m blades look like, but they could just be using a generic pic.

Wife just found it - Number on my receipt is LYJ4094-6078. Now that I think about it, 6078 is the blade number from Oregon, but I could be wrong, and mine aren't Oregon.

You don't say if it's an offset or numbered lowboy, but I think the same Danco spindles were used on both. The numbered lowboys used an IH branded deck with I believe the same spindles used on the Danco decks. So your IH dealer should look for an IH 3160 mower deck for the numbered lowboys. The blades on those (IH part # 547191R1) are 21.25 x 2.5 with a 3/8 center hole and two 17/32 holes 4.5 inches apart. They are right hand discharge. Search the IH part number if those dimensions match what you have. Also the Danco spindles as I recall use a very common trailer axle bearing if you ever need bearings.

Barite , 547161R1 crosses to Rotary #15-6078 with 2 bolt attachment.
I think they work on C3 and 3160 but not 3160A or 3260 decks.
