IH disc plow

Does anyone know if I H manufactured a oneway discplow in the 1970's-80's?. I see one in a pasture next to the road as I drive by, and am curious about it. Were they easy pulling? I am including a few pictures.

There's an I-46 two-way disc plow & the 110, 120 & 300 one-way disc plow listed in my '70 IH Buyer's Guide. There was also a model I-400 that was made as late as 1971, listed in the IH Machine Product List (c. 1978). None are listed in my '78 - '84 IH Agricultural Equipment Reference Catalog.

Not sure how well they worked. There were some smaller pull types around here, but they were parked in the '50s in favor of better moldboard plows & other types of tillage.

Your pics did not post.

I remember my dad using a one way when I was very young. We had a John Deere, and a Moline. They are still setting in our machinery line up. I think Dad stopped using them, because we couldn't get the blades anymore.

Dryland wheat and milo on the high plains. Used on dryland farms in Australia also. I put several hours in front of one when we lived in Queensland.

I have two jd surflex one-way plows I have gotten over the years, the one we used on the home place when I was a kid, was an Oliver one way it was a rebadged Shaffer plow made in Kansas

I had time this past weekend to crawl through the barbed wire fence to get a closer look at this one way discplow. Here are a few more pictures. It is a 110 Flexall, looks to be about 12-13 feet wide. How big of tractor would it take to pull that?.

Going back to my records, a mid 90hp tractor would pull a 24 blade one-way. Width of cut would be 15 to 18 foot. Working depth of about 2.5 inches and pulled about 4.5 mph.

I think depending on soil type that a IHC 806 or more especially 1206 could pull that disk tiller. If that disk tiller is similar to JD Surflex disk tiller the cutting width can be changed by adjusting angle that disks, rear wheel & frame approached unplowed soil. Many disk tillers were utilized by local farmers when I was employed at local JD dealer from '65-'87
