This is RH side of engine...on the very back of block- about half way down - Is this CC Vent or a water fitting?

Though the picture is a bit close, I am sure it is a block drain for coolant. Blow air into it and I bet you can hear it in the radiator cap. I assume there is no coolant in it right now, or a plug in the fitting! Jim

I believe this is your crankcase vent. Is it on the right (magneto side) of the engine? If so, it should go into the area of the block that holds the tappets and also has drain holes that allow the oil from the cylinder head to drip down into the block. This would also allow for crankcase ventilation. At least that is how my F20 works (and from the last time I chimed in on your W30, I know they are a bit different). But that would be my input - crankcase vent.

It's a block vent sir, same thing on my w-30, have another pipe coming off the 45 to somewhat near the base of the block

as others have said it is the crankcase vent, you may also get oil coming out of it at times if you over oil the valves or when pulling it up on a trailer so don't get excited if you see that.
