Has anyone near me got any IH crawlers/dozers near me in Otto NC, I would love to see some as I was raised on TD9,T9,BTD6 and 8,B100,B125,150 and 175, this was many years ago back n England. I have seen just one in the area and that is a sorry looking TD9 which I think is a "B". Thank you from an old Brit.

I don't live near you, but I have a '52 IH TD6. It runs, but I had to rebuild the starter and haven't put it back in yet. Previous owner painted it the wrong color. I will make it right one day.

Hi Britman and MJ I'm in London and in the repair business from back in the 50's, tracks and pump worn out now but still like to keep my hand in, there was lots of IH equipment on the road jobs around the London area, I always had a soft spot for IH their machines looked nice to the eye and even though they had a few faults but no more than others back in the day, when the TD24 came out it was like the Rolls Royce of earthmoving equipment but like the Vickers they were too fast and got too much abuse, the small machines like the BTD6 Drott was very popular, you would find one on every site, when the B100 came out it was a common practice to fit a JCB backhoe on the back and that was a very versatile machine and very popular with the hire industry, alas IH is gone but shreds of it remain under other brand names, its a pity all we have left is the memory and a sore chest from putting the clutch in a 6 or shinned knuckles from the steering clutch removal, back in the day we were young and did not care about having to rough it, now its all sissy crap on a job site, hi vis jackets, backup beepers GPS levels makes one wonder how all the big jobs were done without the high tech back then, maybe it was because we served out time to our trade and knew our jobs.
