IH444 Ignition Switch & Re-wire

Hey, all. So, I'm back to working on the 444. Unfortunately, its due to some burnt up wiring (literally fire and smoke) that happened while scraping the drive. It got exciting for a minute, but it luckily put itself out. This happened once before but was limited to the wiring at the ignition switch. This time, it was all over, including the wiring replaced last time. Granted, the wiring is 50 years old, cracked and brittle. I figure it shorted itself or, the unused connector for the fuel shut off solenoid came unsecured and melted against the exhaust. Regardless, I opted for a complete wiring harness from Porch Electric. I also ordered a new ignition switch, as I was concerned that the old one was getting hot, then causing wiring to burn up due to high resistance (plus, the key is broken off, and I have to use a washer to turn the switch - previous owner did).
My issue is that the new switch (see pic) came with flat or spade terminals, and the new harness has ring terminals. The old switch (see pic) has ring terminals, as well, although, IDK if its OE or not. I hate to modify the new harness, but I also hate to roll the dice on the old switch burning up the harness, too. If it were you, what would you do? Mod the new harness or try a different switch? I know it seems silly, but I would like to keep it as close to original as possible. However, if the ring terminal style switch is either an aftermarket replacement or just non procurable OE Stock, then I will likely just modify the harness. Thoughts?

use new switch and make a jumper wire to go from spade to ring and put a small bolt and nut in it. If taped up good would be easy to do or just cut off ring on new harness and put on spades. either way it will work.

Obviously, your aftermarket harness is not "correct".

At this point, the easiest thing to do would be to buy a "universal keyed ignition switch" ($8 to $15) with "stud" terminals and return your FIAT switch.

That's what your old switch is, anyway.
