IHC 710 4bottom plow

Hey out there'
I have a 4 bottom IHC 710 plow that likes to side draft when you put in the ground and so it does not fill the furrow, it is s semi mount model. I have tried adjusting everything on it I can see. Lines up perfect with wheel on tractor until you start to plow, does not pull hard even with the side draft. I have tried it on a 1650 and 1850 oliver tractor and does the same thing.
Anybody out there had the same problem? Any ideas would be great, Thanks, Silas in Minnesota

Sounds to me like the landslides are shot. With a semi-mount, that's the only thing that keeps the plow pulling straight. The 710 should have the wear pads bolted to the landslides also.

first rear tires should be set 30-32 in from pto to inside of tire second move main pull beam one hole to the right move cross bar to left to get width of cut you need this is in in operaters manual if you have one. it works.I plow many acres a year it is becomeing a lost art.

I would suspect that the depth is not set correctly from front to back or the headstock is set too far to one side thus being off the center of draft.
I'm more familiar with mounted plows than semi's, but that's what I'd be looking for on a mounted plow. A plow set to pull to far to the right will lay over on it's left side, wear the landsides and shins off and do poor work...
Wheel settings are another possibility. You might need to widen them. I'd hazard to guess that they should be set in the 60-65" range between the wheels.

Does yor 710 have the sigle tail wheel?I had one of those.that goofy thing wouldnt hold astraght furrow if your life depended on it.The neighbors all thought i became a drunk!Traded it 0ff for a 720 with the gauge wheel and ive been plowing straight ever since.

710 and 720 both have a single tail wheel, like other plows...but are you referring to the difference in the mounting? Long, sloping pipe, and the wheel runs on the land instead of the furrow? Around here, they are junk. Typical wheel running in the furrow, with the parallel linkage like on most any other brand- they work much better.
