I'm still impressed....

After using it for a while, I'm still impressed with the Shindaiwa cordless weed eater I bought a couple of weeks ago and mentioned on this forum. For those who might not remember, Shindaiwa tools are made in Japan by the same company that makes Echo. Shindaiwa also has a line of gasoline chain saws, brush cutters, etc.

It's a 56 volt double string trimmer, and actually I'm more impressed with it now after using it for a while. The owner's manual says on a fully charged battery it will have 22 to 26 minutes of run time, but I used it for 15 minutes once and the tab on the battery still showed a full charge.

Performance wise, it will match or out perform most gasoline weed eaters I've used.

As I said, I'm still impressed with it.

Good to hear. After my gasoline one gave out I've been using a corded electric one. I may look at a cordless electric one. Gasoline ones are high maintenance.

Good to hear some good Results now and then.

I had never heard of the brand until 5 years ago when I started at this little construction company. They run tools and machines of all colors and brands and the shindaiwa stuff seems to hold up and last

I've heard good things about the gas-powered Shindaiwa equipment. Their stuff is popular with commercial landscapers. I'm not familiar with their electric stuff, though.

I ordered this one from Amazon for $129.99, although price was only part of my decision. I'd done research on features, read a lot of positive reviews on this one, etc.

Best part is I don't have to mess with a cantankerous 2 cycle engine.

I have an Echo 56 volt chainsaw that performs just as good as a gas unit. I carry it with us when we go trail riding alot.

I keep looking at Echos 56 volt push mower every time I am at the dealer. Only one thing keeps me from bringing one home. They do not have self propelled models yet.

The newer battery tools are really impressive. I went with Dewalt only because of a deal, started out with a string trimmer and ended up with hedge trimmer, chain saw and leaf blower. They all will do anything any gas tool I ever had would do with not having to deal with gummed up carbs and bad gas.
