Implement / attachment suggestion for weeds?

My back yard is still unlandscaped. It's just about an acre of hard Arizona dirt. After our recent rains, there are small weeds popping up everywhere. Last time I used my box scraper to take care of it, but I'm looking for a way to get rid of the weeds and small stones and crap from the surface without moving so much dirt around as the scraper does.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Some kind of rake or harrow?
Something I haven't heard about?
Or is the box scraper just the way to go?

Thanks,

Chuck

A landscape rake will work great for the rocks & sticks but it will not break up the hard ground or help with the weeds. It will work though (may take several passes) if all of the rocks & sticks are on the top of the dirt.

You should be able to lower your rippers on the box blade low enough that the blade will not even touch. It is slow going but you can just "plow" that way if you need to break up hard ground.

A disc would work to break up the dirt (maybe after a light rain) & not move a lot around also--

We use a harrow to level things out after breaking the ground up --

If it were me & I did not NEED to break up the ground I would -

1- rake it to remove rocks, sticks, etc
2- use roundup to control growth until you get around to landscape it.
