In trouble, need a Zenith expert!

Working on the "new" tractor today and moved some fuel lines that were getting in the way of carb operation. I must have dislodged some gunk and I am pretty sure it stuck the float needle open. Gas all over the place and wouldn't stop.

Removed the carb and took it apart and started cleaning and a small pipe fell out. I didn't see where it came from but I think I found where it goes.

For the life of me, I can't find a parts diagram on the net that gives a good view of where it goes.

Can someone verify that I have it in the correct place?

Thank you.

I am pulling mine apart tomorrow so I can look. Mine is on a 1955 640. Question: are you
relocating the fuel lines to get them away from the exhaust manifold?

To which small pipe in your photo are you referring??

Perhaps the service instructions would provide some insight (assuming your carb is one of the early models covered)

This is from a '74 Ford 2000. I moved the fuel lines to give the throttle and governor rods some room to move freely. There was interference. I think my carb tag has a date of some time in the '90s. I am guessing that is when the previous owner upgraded the stock carb. Exhaust is on the other side.

If yours has that pipe like mine, see if it falls out. I am thinking that pipe is supposed to "tapped firmly" into the opening at the bottom of the base.

Thanks.

Jim
