Injector pump stops working after five minutes

I have a Ford 801 diesel that seems to have an intermittent injector pump I will lose fuel pressure after about five minutes of run time and then it might take 30 or 40 minutes to start the tractor back up any one have any advice on what could cause an intermittent pump I have change the filter and check all fuel lines also have bled all the air from the system

Sounds like the injection pump needs repair, retainer ring is failing inside causing it to shut down. Confirm by seeing if it will run OK with the two screw timing cover loose on the side allowing fuel to leak. If it runs OK then, and dies when the screws are tight with the leak stopped pump needs repair. Retainer ring broken bits are plugging the return side and causing the shut down.

Ok tried to start tractor today won't start at all no fuel to injectors loosen screw on side of pump plenty of fuel there still won't start kinda lost I've got good mechanical skills but almost no knowledge of deisel mechanics

Did you check the screen IN the pump. If you do, take starting fluid and clean that area real good before loosening pump screen. I believe its a 13/16 wrench. I bought a new pump a while back that had a check valve in the return line port. The tractor would run a little bit and shut down. I took the check valve out and no more problems.
