installing chevy alternator on a ym155d

has anyone installed a chevy one wire alternator on a ym155 d??? <E></E>

No, but can't be much to it. They say it only has 1 wire.

1. Maybe you need a new alternator but in my experience it's more often a bad regulator.

2. There may not be room for an auto alt.

3. Road vehicles' alternators are designed to produce much more output than a tractor's.

4. Yanmar alternators often outlast the rest of the tractor, so you should be able to find one at a salvage yard.

Alan thanks for the info but when you add a electric water pump ,electric radiator fan ,halogen head light bulbs ,front signals , the yanmar alt won't cut it ,it was a bear to install the 1 wire chevy , mount ,idler pulley ,back idler pulley. its 10 lbs of ka ka in a 5 pound bag but I did it.
