Installing Farmall C block in a B

found a ‘48 C for sale with a good engine. I’m looking to swap the engine into my B. I know this would add the hydraulic pump, my question is do I need any other parts off the C besides the valve assembly? And will that assembly bolt on to the B? I want to keep the offset operators station on the B which is why I’m curious what else all I would need to do to make this work.

If I remember right the engine will bolt right in place of the old engine.

ASSUMING you want to transfer over the complete lift "box" there's no machined area to mount it on your "B".

What does the left box consist of? I’m not very well versed in farmalls this is our first one. Could I just leave the pump on with nothing hooked up to it? Maybe loop the supply and return with a hose

A very experienced tractor mechanic was once looking for an engine to install on an A. 3 complete B tractors could be had in local market for the price of 1 C or A but he said B was an engine all it's own. He eventually found a C and everything worked perfect.

If not using the hydraulic pump, remove it and cover the opening in the block with a block off plate and gasket.

Part # is 251067R1, hard to find, but not impossible to fabricate.

Or, just remove the drive gear from the pump.

I put a C engine in my A. I retroed the lines off of the hydraulic pump to a tank I made to fit under the hood and to a two spool vave I mounted by the seat. Now my A has a Blade on the front and a Three point hitch. Makes it a very usefull tractor.

A and B blocks are the same the C block is different. The A and B blocks has a relief cut in it to allow the steering shaft to connect to the bolster. You might be able to hog out enough material to make it work, but it is not s simple bolt together project.
