intakecontrol valve

with tractor runing should the intake control valve be in or out mine is in and takes pressure by hand to push out but either way hydraulics still dont work have cleaned out upper piston and put back together no leaks in side that i could see and control arm feels like it moves up and down insted of in and out what do i do?????confuesed in tn.....cory

hey i drained the oil and can now see that the control valve will not go in all the way even when i try to push it oooooo sorry a 48 8n ford

Sounds like you may have to pull the pump and see why the valve/s are not moving in and out as they should.

Could be some sort of foriegn material stuck in a port in one of the valves.

If it can't be cleared with a piece of wire and or compressed air the control valve bushings may have to be pressed out to clear them. The pump housing can be broken if this is not done right.
The bushing has be end up with exactly the same amount of material sticking out of the housing as when you started so take note and write it down.
