Interesting Case Drott

Was driving through North Powder today and remembered an old Case Drott I used to drive by when I was on county patrol. A rather large crane. Been sitting for awhile. Looks to be in very good condition. Any ideas from the experts? Nick

Drove a Drott box crane at a prestressed concrete bridge beam plant back in 73 and 74. It was actually fun. It had four large wheels, one on each corner, that rolled up and down concrete runs a foot thick and four feet wide.
The one in the picture looks to be from the same era with that styling. Would like to see it steer around a corner

Don't know if it runs. Yes, steering would be interesting. Been there probably 20 years, maybe longer. Looks good though. No I don't want it. Just wanted to post it for people to look at and comments. If anybody is interested I could try to find the owner to see if it's for sale.

It will corner just fine. The outer end of the boom is on a pedestal on the trailer. It appears the top of that pedestal can rock side to side, pivot, and it looks like a slide arrangement under the boom. These things allow some changes between the boom and trailer when going around corners and through dips. They leave the house free to swing so it does not hold the trailer straight, it follows just like a regular trailer, turning the crane house as needed. The boom is also likely "floating" hydraulicly, so some weight is on the pivot/trailer.
